For those wondering, yes, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte IS planning to enact a nationwide smoking and liquor ban if he is elected as president, similar to what is currently implemented in Davao City, according to local reports!
Duterte reportedly confirmed this in his weekly show “Gikan Sa Masa, Para Sa Masa”.
The Davao City Mayor said that he would push for a smoking ban similar to what is currently being done in Davao City, where there are designated smoking areas just outside of buildings, and that he would push for the smoking ban even if it costs him votes for the election, according to reports.
Duterte also reportedly wants to implement a liquor ban nationwide. In Davao City, establishments are prohibited from selling liquor from 1:00 AM onwards.
The Davao City mayor said that he is insistent on implementing these policies that would bring order to society.
