We were having a hard time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good to us, so we asked for the restaurant manager’s recommendation. She praised the Pork BBQ Spare Ribs and the Minute Steak and they sounded wonderful. We ordered one of each to share, and since each meal comes with 2 side dishes, we also ordered 2 baked potatoes (one for each of us), a side of roasted vegetables, and the macaroni salad. When the food arrived, our senses were delighted. Everything looked and smelled amazing, and we could barely wait to take some photos of our meals before digging in!

Pork BBQ Spare Ribs With Baked Potato and Macaroni Salad
The minute steak was served with an onion gravy that was to die for. The gravy was possibly my favorite part of the meal. It didn’t taste like your typical plain brown gravy by far. It was extremely flavorful, both a little sweet and slightly on the spicy side with pieces of onions mixed in. The steak itself was very savoury, too. It was well-done, but still very moist and tender throughout the entire piece of meat. Flavored with some herbs on top and dipped in the gravy, there’s nothing more you could want.
The sides that I ordered with mine were roasted vegetables and a baked potato. First off, I want to praise the chef for cooking the vegetables perfectly. In a lot of places, I find that they tend to either overcook the vegetables until they are mushy or undercook them so that they are still pretty raw, just warmed. These roasted vegetables, made up of squash, carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic, and topped with some herbs, were perfectly cooked – not too soft, not too hard, just right. The baked potato was topped with butter, sour cream and bacon bits – absolutely perfect. Even the potato’s skin was oozing with flavor.
When the pork BBQ spare ribs arrived, we were a bit surprised by their appearance. We are used to ribs being really saucy and messy, but these didn’t have a lot of sauce on them. Do not be fooled, though – saucy doesn’t necessarily mean flavorful, and the lack of sauce here was by no means a bad thing. The flavor of the ribs was exquisite – smokey and sweet and tangy.
I think I even have to go so far as to say that the ribs were the most flavorful ones that I’ve eaten in a very long time.
The meat was so tender, you could just pull it apart with your fingers. David ate his all daintily with a fork and knife, but I grew up as a firm believer that ribs taste better when you eat them with your hands, so I got down and dirty with these succulent pieces of meat!
The sides we were served along with the ribs consisted of another baked potato and the macaroni salad. What can I say? We both love baked potatoes and didn’t want to have to fight over who got it. The macaroni salad proved to be yet another surprising and unique menu item. Instead of just a plain mayonnaise sauce as is the norm, Draft makes theirs with a pesto-mayo. It was savory and creamy with a delicious basil flavor. The more we ate, the more we liked it!
Finally, after a very satisfying dinner, we took a look at the dessert menu. We decided to go for a new menu item, Blueberry Kuchen, which is a German crumble cake with blueberry compote and vanilla ice cream. I have to admit – I’m not normally very fond of blueberries, but this dessert just may have changed my mind. The cake was very sweet and the crunchy bits on top were a treat to our taste buds. The blueberry compote (whole blueberries in a sugar syrup) was bursting with sweet and tangy flavors and the whole dessert was perfectly paired with vanilla ice cream – which, by the way, is homemade by Draft themselves!
So, sitting here with a full stomach and more than satisfied taste buds, I will wholeheartedly recommend you make a stop to Draft Alabang next weekend to try out their Weekend BBQ Specials.
