Terrible news, everyone: it’s time to say goodbye to Dr. Martens!
Dr. Martens announced on Friday, December 23, that it is officially closing all its branches in the Philippines by January 1, 2023.
In a Facebook post, the shoe brand invited everyone to visit its four stores around Metro Manila and avail of their closing sale.
“To Our DMโs Community: It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of all Dr. Martens stores in the Philippines. Our last day of operations will be on December 31, 2022. Catch the classic bestsellers and original icons on sale at up to 50% off. Visit the following stores, hoard pairs, and say hi to our amazing store staff one last time before we officially close our doors,” the statement read.
You can purchase Dr. Martens before they’re gone at their spots in Glorietta 4, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, and Manila Bay.
The brand, which was founded in 1945 in Germany, is well-known for its distinguishable leather boots with air-padded soles and has earned a significant following from various youth subcultures, particularly the punk communities.
Dr. Martens said that it will continue to sell the rest of its stocks online and in multi-brand shoe stores following its closure.
