Effective August 24, Filipinos can now call the DPWH Secretary Villar’s hotline number 165 -02 should you have DPWH-related issues.

According to news reports, Secretary Villar shared “DPWH Projects are projects of the Filipino people. We’re asking for the help of every Filipino in ensuring that the projects are implemented well and at the right quality.”

It was also stated in the Manila Bulletin article that this is just one of the mechanisms that would be put in place to ensure transparency of operations within the department.

Villar’s comment about it was also shared in Rappler that “President Duterte’s instruction is clear – Get rid of corruption. Make information accessible to the People.”

While anyone can call the hotline, prank callers won’t be tolerated, according to Villar. He added: “Allow us to do our job well.”

Additionally, citizens may also text their feedbacks to 2920.

Last August 1st, the centralized emergency hotline  Dial ‘911 was finally implemented.

Looks like the “change” we’ve been probing is now happening.

What are your thoughts about this? Do you think this would help alleviate issues in the streets?
