DOH: 83% of the 19,585 tested for COVID-19 turned out negative

The Department of Health (DOH) announced this Sunday that 83% of the 19,585 individuals who have been tested for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) so far have turned out with negative results.

[We want to inform everyone that from all of our tests, 83% showed negative results.]

Vergeire added that all laboratories in the Philippines have tested 19,585 individuals for COVID-19 as of April 5, Sunday.

DOH is aiming to test 10,000 individuals per day by the end of April. However, laboratories currently only have the capacity to test 900 to 1,200 individuals per day.

As per the DOH’s update on Sunday afternoon, the Philippines’ tally for COVID-19 cases has reached 3,246. Of these cases, there have been 152 deaths and 64 recoveries.
