DOH: 3 more have died due to COVID-19 bringing total to 5

On March 12, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3 new deaths among the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. The number of deaths now comes up to 5.

PH 6 passed away on the evening of March 11 after having difficulty breathing. Her husband, PH 5, passed away the next morning.

PH 37 passed away earlier this afternoon after testing positive for COVID-19 on the 11th, just one day prior.

Prior to this, there had been only 2 recorded COVID-19-related deaths. The spread surged this second week of March after the first few cases were identified in various areas in the Metro.

COVID-19 is an infectious virus that is transmitted through droplets. Please exercise caution, social distance, and personal hygiene thoroughly. Wash your hands, cover your mouth when you cough, and submit yourself to testing if you suspect you have any symptoms.
