Tony Labrusca and Julia Barretto are the newest onscreen couple to bring kilig feelings to fans everywhere with their newest iWant digital series “I AM U.” But what does Tony have to say about seeing Julia as his potential girlfriend?

On Tonight With Boy Abunda, Tony explained his current relationship with Julia and how he feels about her.
“I would love to be friends with her [but] let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Tito Boy,” he said candidly to host Boy Abunda.
When asked about the controversies he and his costar both found themselves involved in this past year, he shared: “What I really believe in something Tito Boy na kung para sa ‘yo, para sa ‘yo talaga (if it’s meant for you, it will be yours). And not a single thing, person, no energy on this Earth can take away what’s meant to be yours. So, no matter what controversy happens to you, if you know that in your heart, you had no ill will, no ill intentions, whatever God’s plans for you, all the good things will still go to you.”
He then added that he empathizes with Julia after she has received so much flak from people following her alleged involvement in the breakup of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson.
“I feel for Julia. I think people forget that me and her are just people, just like everybody else,” he said. “I mean, mayroon din kaming (we also have) feelings, you know? Minsan, umiiyak din, minsan masaya (Sometimes, we cry, sometimes we’re happy). I mean, we’re just normal human beings. Noong nakita ko po siya (When I saw her), I kinda took time and I wanted to be, in the most respectful way, tinatanong ko siya (I asked her) Tito Boy on… how is she, how is she coping with everything.”
“You know, she always goes back to God,” he continued. “And Tito Boy, I can honestly say that I’m so inspired by her stories about her family.”
Despite this, he denied any possibility of him falling in love with her.
“I’m just gonna say this. You know what, one day, when she gets married, the man that she marries will be a very lucky man,” he shared.
