They say teachers are our second parents, and this young surgeon from Cebu took that to heart when he met his favorite teacher in the hospital.
Virginia Padilla Roble shared on Facebook how she checked out of the Perpetual Succour Hospital and was surprised to see a different kind of note from the nurse’s station. The note, signed by her orthopedic surgeon Dilbert Monicit, simply says: “Dear Ma’am Roble, professional fee = paid 22 years ago (one of my favorite teachers!)”
In the comments section, friends of Dr. Monicit noted his kindness. One even mentioned how the doctor did not charge her for the professional fee during the checkup and the follow-up consultation of her son.
Friends also noted Roble’s positive influence on her students. One said that she met the mayor of Mandaue and he said that he is where he is today because of her mentorship.
