Fringe has been a widely known cultural, arts, and music festival in many countries. This year, it is Manila’s first time to join the other countries in showcasing its local artists.
One of the Fringe MNL events that brings together different forms of art is DocDef Productions’ “Edges”. It’s concept “Edges” represents the importance of each element that makes up the local independent music scene as a whole. The element of each band represents the edges of fabric that makes up the Independent scene. Different bands, different threads, different sounds, one movement
On the night itself, there will be a photo exhibit by GAB PILI Photography and art exhibit by Cinos, Clai Litiatco, Kit Palabyab, and Mr. S.
Since DocDef is a production outfit that supports local musicians by giving them opportunities to promote and play their music on a regular basis, this special event offers performances by local bands such as Farewell Fair Weather, Jensen and The Flips, She’s Only Sixteen, Sud, MilesExperience, Tom’s Story, Autotelic and more. While some of these bands are playing, there will be a simultaneous live digital art show by Jeff Baligad.
DocDef Productions’ “Edges” is certainly one of the most exciting and holistic Fringe events since it offers people a harmony and diversity of different art forms.
