Joint Task Force COVID shield commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said on Monday Metro Manila residents who plan to visit Tagaytay City will need to present a travel pass from the police.
However, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla clarified on Thursday a travel pass would not be necessary.
Remulla posted on Twitter:
Tagaytay is OPEN and there is no need for a travel pass. Please remember, however, that we are still under quarantine system. Weโre not yet in the clear. We have to follow IATF Guidelines. Please stay safe and do what is best to protect yourselves and your loved ones.

He expounded about this on a post on Facebook. He said, โOn behalf of the Cavite Provincial Government, I would like to apologize for the hasty decision to issue a travel warning to Tagaytay City last September 15.โ
โI was reacting to a directive made by Philippine National Police Deputy Chief Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar that a travel pass is required to enter Tagaytay,โ he added. โSa kasalukuyan, bukas po ang Tagaytay City under MGCQ at hindi po kinakailangan ng travel pass para makarating dito.โ
Still, the governor reminded visitors to practice strict health protocols after 250 cadets in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) along Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
