De La Salle University’s oldest and largest organization that caters to the fil-chi youth, Englicom, hosted a university-wide flagship event called “Transcend: Cutting Edge Among the Rest” to promote efficiency, creativity, and aspirations through an insightful seminar and a business pitch competition. The week-long hybrid event includes a seminar wherein successful industry leaders helped participants find their niche, alongside a platform for students to showcase and enhance the key characteristics needed in the business world through the business pitch competition. The dates for the events are as follows:
- November 23, 2022 (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM): The Blueprint to Discovering One’s Value Proposition (Seminar)
- November 26, 2022 (1:30 PM – 4:30 PM): Business Pitch Competition
“Transcend: Cutting Edge Among the Rest” is an event that pushes and inspires individuals to test their limits to the best of their capabilities. The seminar titled “The Blueprint to Discovering One’s Value Proposition” invited speakers who excel in their fields of work to share the stories of their humble beginnings, alongside their tips and tricks, and words of wisdom that would serve as a guide and inspiration to the participants of the seminar.
Meanwhile, the business pitch competition of “Transcend: Cutting Edge Amongst the Rest” aims to promote the importance of creativity, efficiency, and aspiration and will serve as a platform for students who want to showcase their abilities and hone the vital personality traits and characteristics that make a great business person. Through the business competition, the participants would be able to come up with their own unique business ideas that would help them find their niche in the business.
About the Speakers
The event featured two knowledgeable speakers. The first speaker is Mr. Steve Sy, CEO and Founder of Great Deals E-Commerce Corp, Co-Founder of Shoppertainment Live Inc, Zagana, and Strat Quad. He is also an E-Founder Fellow of Alibaba Business School, as well as an endeavor entrepreneur.
Also known for being a Mansmith innovation awardee, Mr. Sy is included in the list of Top 100 Filipinos to follow on LinkedIn for inspiration and learning.
The second speaker is Arch. Patrick Andrew Y. He graduated BS in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas – College of Architecture in the year 2011, and MSc in Emergent Technologies and Design from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London (UK) in the year 2015. He is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Partner for T+A Design Studio since 2016. MSc Emergent Technologies and Design at Architectural Association School of Architecture, London (UK) (2015).
