“I Took A Pill In Ibiza” is one of the top hits by Mike Posner, an American singer-songwriter, poet, and record producer. As one of the performers at Coachella, the artist shared a beautiful tribute to the passing of Swedish DJ Tim Bergling (popularly known as Avicii) during his 2018 set. The song was released in 2015 and was told to be about his experience in one of Avicii’s shows when a fan came up and recognized Posner.
His performance of its acoustic version went viral on Facebook.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual week-long music and arts festival held in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert, California. Bergling was found dead in Oman last Friday (April 20) during the festival which began last April 13 (Friday) and ended yesterday, April 22 (Sunday).
As the reference to the song, Avicii had previously responded to Rolling Stone in an interview saying “Mike’s a good friend, so I took it as an honor. And I agree – parties can be amazing, but it’s very easy to become too attached to partying in places like Ibiza.
You become lonely and get anxieties.
It becomes toxic.”

. @Avicii was talented and kind, and I was genuinely excited to see what would come next from him. His future most certainly should have been written beyond age 28. I am heartbroken. Rest easy Tim.
Tim, I can’t believe what I just heard, you have gone way to early, there are no words to describe how I feel, I am thankful for all the great moments we got to spent together; and thankful for all the things I got to learn from you. The world will miss you.❤️ ~ R.I.P Avicii pic.twitter.com/HR3JvWGs9k
