Netizens have been posting online about certain photos taken at the site of the restaurant which shows workers taking down its huge signage with a small crane. Locals were left wondering if it signified the end of the beloved establishment.

Robot Restaurant hasn’t made any announcement regarding its possible closure, either. Its last update on its official Twitter account that said it will only be temporarily closing was posted over a year ago in April 2020.

Shinjuku’s Robot Restaurant is one of the busiest and most visited establishments in the city because of its amazing and bizarre electronic shows. Every night, diners are treated to neon lights, loud music, cool robots, and adrenaline-filled performances that are meant to both overwhelm and entertain. Many people who’ve watched a show will either warn you about its craziness or gush over the unforgettable experience.

Only time will tell if Robot Restaurant will return to delight people once again.
