After the news of developers with plans to create an underwater theme park in Palawan, they were faced with backlash from environmental conservation groups that expressed concern over the fragile ecological balance and the lush biodiversity that will be put in danger because of the project.
Developers Coral World Undersea Resort in partnership with Viacom International Media Networks (parent company of Nickelodeon) clarified that resort was planning to be built in Coron but not underwater as initially stated, and would be built on land. They also added that the “undersea theme park” would be entirely on land with only about 30% of its facilities floating on water.
Do you think that building the theme park on land and “floating on water” would make the idea any better? Share with us your thoughts about this issue below.
