All the times you’ve heard “Despacito” has paid off: apart from being the most streamed song with 4.6 billion streams across all platforms, its music video is now the most viewed video on YouTube.

The news was announced by the platform on Twitter, with a video of singer Luis Fonsi saying that the song is the first to reach three billion views on YouTube.

Previously, the title was held by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s Fast and Furious song “See You Again,” which beat out previous record holder Psy and his hit “Gangnam Style.”

Fonsi told Time magazine, ““Thank you YouTube for ‘Despacito”s success. I recognize the influence that the platform has. The music industry has changed. The rules of music have changed. And YouTube has a big responsibility, and I recognize it. Breaking a record is overwhelming, and I’m happy to keep inspiring others to do the same.”

“Despacito” is by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee. The song was released in January but reached global status when a remix was released featuring Justin Bieber.
