It truly was a miracle for celebrity couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado to discover that the latter had finally become pregnant with their first child together — “a miracle” because the two had originally planned to get a surrogate and were supposed to sign the contract this month!
In an exclusive interview with MEGA Magazine, Dennis and Jennylyn revealed that they had flown to the United States amid the pandemic to consult with a fertility specialist and find a surrogate mother. They even had the “perfect” embryo that they needed the right match for.
“Meron na kaming isang perfect na embryo ta’s kailangan na lang namin maghanap ng perfect din na surrogate na magca-carry nu’n (We already had a perfect embryo and just needed to find the perfect surrogate to carry it),” Dennis said in the interview.
They eventually found the “perfect” surrogate mother and were supposed to sign the contract and have the embryo injected into her this October.
“Nakilala na namin ‘yung surrogate, mababait sila, tapos magpipirmahan na lang kami ng kontrata and iiinject na lang ‘yung embryo sa kanya ngayong October dapat (We met the surrogate, she’s nice, and all we needed to do was just sign the contract and inject the embryo into her this October),” Dennis added.
But all their plans changed when Jennylyn started showing signs of pregnancy while at the lock-in taping for her upcoming television show “Love. Die. Repeat.” She talked about having headaches and acid reflux and crying without explanation.
Certain that they are now expecting a child together, Dennis and Jennylyn are ready to take this next step in their relationship as a soon-to-be-married couple. You can read more about their engagement below:
