Singer-songwriter Denice Lao drops a collab track with top-streamed act Fred Engay and OPM band Rise High for LT. Butterfly, the first release from Passion Sampler—a new creative collective dedicated to launching independent passion projects by Filipino artists.
LT. Butterfly brings together the artists’ three distinct voices, songwriting styles, and perspectives on “waiting.” The retro-pop release talks about the reality that “life takes time”—and that’s okay. LT. Butterfly is the first of Denice Lao’s series of collaborative releases leading up to her debut album, scheduled for 2026.
The song marks a fresh chapter for Denice Lao, who leans into a more collaborative and experimental direction alongside Fred Engay and Rise High. Known for her heartfelt lyrics, Denice blends her sound with Fred’s soulful delivery and Rise High’s band-driven energy. Together, they create a track that invites listeners to slow down, trust the process, and find meaning in the quiet, in-between moments of life.

To mark the release, a launch gig is happening on August 2, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM at The Astbury in Poblacion, Makati. Guests can look forward to live performances from Denice, Fred, and Rise High, along with the release of exclusive LT. Butterfly merchandise. Lined up as well are opening acts Sarah Marco and newcomer rbrt. Special collaboration stages are expected, with the three artists hopping into each other’s songs on top of doing a special performance of LT. Butterfly.
