Darren Criss Singing Les Miserables’ “I Dreamed a Dream” is Heavenly

Darren Criss I Dreamed a Dream

One of Les Miserables‘ most popular songs is the emotional “I Dreamed a Dream,” sung by Fantine as she reflects on the downward spiral her life has become. We’ve seen countless covers of it, many of it good, but if there’s one cover you need to hear today, it’s Darren Criss’s.

The former Glee star belted the Les Mis classic on YouTube and it’s heavenly.

Check it out below:

Criss is active in theater and co-wrote the music and lyrics of A Very Potter Musical. He rose to fame when he starred in the musical series Glee, as Blaine Anderson, the openly gay lead singer of the Dalton Academy Warblers. His cover of Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” became the fast-selling single of the show. He also wrote the song “This Time” for the series finale, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Criss also performed on Broadway, as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Hedwig Robinson in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

After Glee, he had roles in American Horror Story: Hotel, Supergirl, and The Flash. He will soon star as Andrew Cunanan in American Crime Story, a retelling of the murder of noted fashion designer Gianni Versace.
