Through the years, Darna has touched and inspired the lives of many Filipinos. To celebrate her 65th year in Pilipino Komiks, the class of Philippine Arts 164: Curatorship and Collection Management, headed by Professor Mary Ann Pernia proudly presents: “#DARNA: Darna Ko, Darna Mo, Darna Nating Lahat”, an art exhibit that will feature different artworks inspired by the said Philippine superhero. This event will be held on November 10-12, 2015 at the University of the Philippines Museum of a History of Ideas located along Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila.
#DARNA Exhibit encourages aspiring artists of today’s generation to showcase their talents by creating artworks inspired by Darna. Artists are free to decide which medium to use in crafting their piece. From fashion design and paintings, to sculptures and art installments, this event will surely be a great venue for the people to witness how the millennial age perceive Darna. The #DARNA Exhibit is undoubtedly a new and fresh approach in appreciating and valuing such a cultural icon.
