Danz Dish IX: Manifesto, LSDC-Street’s 9th Annual Dance Concert
Everyday, each individual has a different role to live up to that makes their identity unique. Everyday, each of them has their own walk of life.
This year, the La Salle Dance Company – Street (LSDC-Street) celebrates its 9th annual dance concert entitled, Danz Dish IX: Manifesto. This year’s theme plays around the manifesto, which means public declaration, of the different stories of each member as they are united through the celebration of their passion for dance, further justifying its released quote “Behind every story is a dancer”.
Foreseen as the biggest Danz Dish production to date, both current members and alumni will be showcasing a variety of dances to its audience of over 1,000 per show. A new addition to the concert is the performance of some family members of the group who will also take part in this exciting endeavor.
Another highlight of the show includes a “Superbowl-themed” act of famous icons such as Beyoncé, Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Madonna, and Psy, being impersonated by members of the dance company.
The competition suite, which is a constant performance for all Danz Dish concerts, consists of the competitions that LSDC-Street joined in the past academic year, which includes the World Hip Hop Dance Championships, Skechers Street Dance Battle Year 9, and Crissa Dance Synergy Year 8.
Kicking off the show are guest performances by The Crew, Saint Benilde Romanćon Dance Company, A Team, Alliance, APC Dance Company, Groove2Praise, CSA Dance Troupe, Zobel Dance Troupe, and the Remix 2013 Rookie and All-Star teams of Team Elite.
Danz Dish IX: Manifesto is happening on February 28, Friday, and March 1, Saturday, at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium of De La Salle University – Manila. Theater doors will open at 7:00 PM, and the show proper starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available for P200 each.
