Daisy Ridley is in the Philippines to film the romantic comedy, “The Last Resort.”

The Hollywood star arrived in the country on March 26 and shared a scenic photo on Instagram Stories, captioned with a Philippine flag emoji.

Directed by Donald Petrie, the Philippines-set film also stars Alden Ehrenreich. According to Variety, the story follows Brooke, portrayed by Ridley, a determined heiress striving to prove her capability to manage her father’s hotel empire. She travels to the Philippines to scout a potential resort location, where she encounters Ben, played by Ehrenreich, a charming expatriate pilot. He introduces her to the country’s beauty and a newfound sense of freedom. As love and duty intertwine, Brooke faces a choice between the life she’s established and the one she’s just begun to cherish.
Manuel V. Pangilinan serves as the executive producer of the upcoming film, with Ernesto “Bong” Sta. Maria Jr. and Raja Collins as producers. Simon Heo, Akshay Mehta, and Rick Dugdale join as co-producers. The screenplay is written by Karen McCullah.
As of writing, further details about “The Last Resort,” including its release date, have yet to be revealed.
Ridley is best known for portraying Rey in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy. Her filmography also includes “Murder on the Orient Express,” “Ophelia,” “Peter Rabbit,” and “Chaos Walking.”
Meanwhile, Ehrenreich is notable for his role as Han Solo in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” He also starred in “Brave New World,” “Cocaine Bear,” and “Fair Play.”
