It’s another Podium win for Cyclist Marella Salamat!
In the recently concluded World University Cycling Championships in Tagaytay City, gold-medal SEA games winner Marela Salamat brought home the bronze.
According to reports, Salamat – who just came from a UCI race stint in Vietnam — could have won silver, but fell a mere second short against Poland’s Nikol Plofaj in a sprint race to the finish.
26 cyclists from 12 countries reportedly took on the challenge, but only half completed the race.
Double-gold winner Romy Kasper of Germany grabbed the gold after leading the 80-kolometer race from start to finish, finishing with a time of 2:42:48; Plofaj clocked in four minutes and 12 seconds behind kasper.
Salamat bagged the gold medal in the women’s individual time trial (ITT) in last year’s SEA Games, clocking in 0:44:46 in the 30-kilometer race.
