Cunejo is a geek rock band from the Philippines comprised of Julius Tan (Vocals), Jeffrey Evangelista (Guitar/Vocals), Anthony Aurella (Guitar/Vocals), Akmar Sabirin (Bass), amd Kurt Floresca (Drums). The band’s sound is a mix of 90’s influenced alternative rock and nostalgic 60’s power pop rock melodies sustained by heavy guitar riffs. Their songs talk about romance, heartbreaks, and whatever teenagers and yuppies experience everyday. Their songs feature straightforward lyrics, melodic guitar lines, and a punk rock beat.
The band current single “Number One Fan” is now available on iTunes, Spotify, and Deezer, and it’s currently on a regular playlist of Jam 88.3 and part of the radio program Fresh Filter.
The music video of the song features appearances by hottest models of FHM Magazine such as China Roces, Crizelda Roberts, Sharra Mae Sapnu, Racqz Raja Pagol, Racyann Oliva and a cameo appearance of Jojo Alejar and Francis “Brew” Reyes, former guitarist of The Dawn. The music video will be aired on MYX and MTV Pinoy very soon.
They will be having a music video launch on Thursday, May 5 at Route 196, Katipunan Ext. QC, with guest performances by exciting bands such as Soapdish, Peryodiko, Japsuki, Bass Relief, Goo, and Tanya Markova.
