Craft to Charm: DIY your Shoes with Faux Pas

It has always been hard for me to find shoes that can brave the Manila Streets. The weather can be very unpredictable so having shoes that can be drenched in water can be a big problem.

Two years ago, I discovered Faux Pas from Res Toe Run. Since then, my Faux Pas shoes has been my go-to footwear whenever it’s rainy or if I’m going out for some errands.

Faux Pas is a French brand that offers footwear that are made from eco-friendly PVC material.

What is special about it is that  you can actually DIY your Faux Pas pair. You can choose from different shoe styles, colors, change the pins s or even make one that will suit your personality. Aside from the signature FP Jam Pin that you bought with your Faux Pas footwear, you can also get different Jams. There are ribbons. beads and different shapes. I loved the gold buckle and the heart shaped Jams! This way, you can change the look of your shoes without spending money for two pairs.

We are lucky enough to meet the man behind the brand: Philippe Millieret. He explains how the customers are very important in the design process. This way they can have whatever they want and it’s more fun than just having a logo on your product. We also asked him what he thinks about the Philippines and he is actually going around the provinces to see what the country has to offer. He is planning to go to Cebu!

Faux Pas’ Craftto Charm event has been a great experience because we get to style our shoes and a little canvas bag. It definitely made us step out of our comfort zone and just be creative!
