Could This “Thirsty Concrete” Be The Solution To Manila’s Flooding Problems?

Flooding is a constant issue in Metro Manila and it sometimes feels as if every small shower instantly turns roads into rivers. Could this new material change that?


Meet “Topmix Permeable” by British company Lafarge Tarmac, a road surfacing material that unlike normal cement or concrete doesn’t turn roads into rivers during rainfall, but instead simply lets the water pass through:
