Coron Vacation: Things to Do and Places to Go in One of Philippine’s Most Beautiful Destinations

There are so many places to see in Coron, and trust me, 2 days won’t be enough! For day 2, I really wanted to go check out the safari where I am told the animals roam free and you can actually feed them! However, the safari was all the way up north and Philippe really wanted to see Malcapuya Island, so… I gave in, and I’m glad I did! Malcapuya Island was part of the agencies Sun, Sand and Sea package and is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen! White sand, cool breeze and nature at its finest! There weren’t too many people and the place was not at all commercialized. I’d gladly go back here ANY TIME! This is my paradise!

The people told us that someone already bought or rented part of Malcapuya island to build a hotel, so I suggest you go visit it now while it’s still in its finest shape.

The people over at Malcapuya Island were also very nice. We even got to meet their dogs, Red Horse, Tequila, Red Wine, etc. Guess who’s alcoholic? haha

You can also go snorkeling here, the water is really shallow for the first 10meters but then suddenly gets deep so  be careful. Philippe and I swam out in search of the giant clams but we missed it ‘coz I panicked that it was getting too deep (I can’t really swim!). The other girls in our tour group however told us that some of the people from the island volunteered to drive them there with their boats so they got to see the majestic and beautiful clams.

Sand Bar

Though not included in the Sun, Sand and Sea package, you could opt to add this to the tour by just adding a small fee. It was another beautiful site in Coron and another one for the books. I’m always fascinated by sand bars. I also felt that second to Malcapuya Island, this was another good spot for a pictorial!

Banana Island

We didn’t stay long ‘coz we were already kinda tired, but we also did some snorkeling at Banana Island. It’s mostly snorkeling in Coron, but I swear you have to just grab each opportunity to take a peek under water – you never know what beauty lies below.

Beautiful fishes, corals and oysters!

We were able to do so much in just a few days but trust me when I say this isn’t even HALF of it! There are still more things to do like the Safari and the cool ship wreck I’ve been hearing so much about. Those will certainly be next on my list!

After a few days in Coron, I am now certain that I’ve found my piece of heaven here in the Philippines! There are no exact words to describe how BEAUTIFUL Coron is. The stunning landscape, virgin white sand, colorful fishes, majestic corals… you’d find all these hidden in Coron. So if I were you, I’d quickly book a flight to Coron to experience it’s wonders before it’s too late!

I flew in to Coron via Cebu Pacific Airlines. The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific Air offers direct flights to Coron from Manila and Cebu for as low as P778. Sign up to be a CEB Club member for the latest seat sales, and book now through www.cebupacificair.com!
