When in Manila is almost always present at every nightlife event in the metro. Just a few days ago, we partnered with Random Minds and caught The xx perform live at the NBC Tent in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
A few months ago, The xx‘s fans in Manila went hysterical over the Internet when the band announced that they are going to stop by the Philippines to do a concert. The good news was all over my Facebook news feed and Twitter timeline.
Since I have covered a couple of big concerts for When in Manila in the past year (Toe and Deftones), some of my friends asked me if I was going to watch and write about The xx, too. I listen to them so I really wanted to check them out live. Without thinking twice, I went ahead and wrote an email to Random Minds — the same guys who brought Wilson Phillips and Demi Lovatto here in Manila.
After a bunch of email exchanges, I got dibs with the coverage and of course, I was stoked (and honored!) to see another foreign band play in flesh.
