Once we were satisfied with our creations, Mia asked us to set them aside as the next session will be for firing/glazing them.
According to Mia, Stoneware clay is fired two times; first at 900ºC so that the pots become porous (bisque ware) and ready for glazing. And the second is fired up to 1260ºC after all the pots are glazed.

After our session, I went around and saw some of the other students trying out the “wheel”/Potter’s Wheel.

All in all it was a fun and messy afternoon! I learned a lot and was actually able to create something out of a chunk of clay!
