City of Manila Declares March 23 a Non-Working Holiday

Those working in the city of Manila will have a longer Holy Week break, as the local government declared Wednesday (March 23) a non-working holiday.

This was declared by a memorandum signed by Mayor Joseph Estrada earlier this week.

Wednesday was declared a holiday to let employees in the city to prepare for the long holiday break.

We repeat: Wednesday is declared a non-working holiday only for those working in the city of Manila. This does not apply to the rest of Metro Manila. The rest of Metro Manila and the Philippines will get March 24 (Maundy Thursday) and March 25 (Good Friday) off, as declared by virtue of Proclamation 1105 signed by President Noynoy Aquino in 2015.
