Every Saturday and Sunday in December 2025 and January 2026 (with additional dates), from 5:00 PM onwards, the Masungi Georeserve will open its doors to Filipinos who want to fully enjoy an unforgettable night of hiking, stargazing, and staying physically active with their family and friends. You can even bring up to 13 more people along for your guided tour.
Celestial Nights isn’t your ordinary outdoor activity. It’s a four-hour immersive learning experience about the cosmos and humanity’s long-standing connection with it. If you’re up for an evening in the mountains, surrounded by nature and good company, here’s what the Masungi Georeserve’s special weekend getaway has in store for you:
An Adventure Under the Stars

Are you ready for an uphill journey beneath the majestic night skies? Celestial Nights will take you on an adventure away from the hectic city and into the country’s vast landscapes. The event starts with a 30-to-45-minute hike along the georeserve’s Discovery Trail, and ends with a salo-salo of your favorite snacks and comfort food in a valley near one of the mountains’ rock peaks.
Stargazing experts will guide you throughout the upward walk. They’ll keep you informed and entertained with extensive narrative sessions about astronomy, constellations, and the science behind celestial bodies.
Celestial Nights also inspires participants to do their part to care for the environment and preserve the country’s natural resources. This season of giving won’t be complete without our heartfelt efforts to advocate for proper climate action and support Filipino community leaders who take the initiative to amplify these calls.
A Simple Yet Unforgettable Get-together
A Christmas celebration isn’t complete without food, and Celestial Nights has plenty. In the spirit of a traditional Filipino salo-salo, participants will end their hike with a lantern-lit dinner along the mountaintops.
Your selection of food ranges from classic Pinoy meriendas to your favorite Christmas staples, provided by the Masungi Georeserve’s community partners. These traditional dishes include puto bumbong and bibingka, as well as healthy meals like grilled chicken, fish fillet, and tofu steak with stir-fried rice. Vegetarian and pescatarian options are also available, and you can even enjoy your food with a cup of hot chocolate.
