Where and When to See Cherry Blossoms: Japan’s Sakura Forecast for 2025

The Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC) has released its first forecast for when and where cherry blossoms are expected to bloom throughout Japan this 2025.

The initial forecast, published on January 9, predicts Kochi, Fukuoka, and Kagoshima to have the earliest blooms around March 22 followed by Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagoya on March 24. Sapporo, Hokkaido will see the latest blooming date at around May 1.

It must be noted that these dates are expected to change as Spring draws nearer so keep checking this post for updates. JMC will release its second cherry blossom forecast on January 23.
