Minions were introduced in the Despicable Me films as yellow pill-shaped creatures that served Felonius Gru, a wannabe villain. Minions gained popularity because of their cuteness, child-like humor, and unique language (which included bits of Filipino). Soon, Minions merchandise populated the market and now, they have their own spin-off movie.
