The dried mangoes from Profood International Corp. will be one among a number of specialty Pinoy delicacies to be showcased in the food event happening at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City from June 23 to 25, 2019. According to the Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM), participating in the event is a great opportunity to test out the marketability of Pinoy delicacies in the North American region with the hopes of boosting export sales.

“We are intent on bolstering the Philippines’ market presence and reach in US specialty and gourmet food as we lead the country’s first participation in one of the New York’s hottest food events,” DTI-CITEM executive director Pauline Suaco-Juan said in a statement.

She also said that they aim to generate at least USD 8 million worth of export sales this year.

The SFFS, organized by the Specialty Food Association (SFA), sees nearly 2,500 exhibitors from across the globe all featuring the latest in innovative specialty food products. This will be the first time Filipino merchants will be taking part in it to share our local products.

With Filipino cuisine on the rise in North America, it looks like Westerners are becoming more open to trying out what we have to offer.
