Summer may be the perfect time to play around with prints and colors, but it’s still a struggle to put together an outfit that’s lightweight and breathable but still stylish. We asked three of our favorite fashionable celebrities Cassy Legaspi, Darren Espanto, and Julia Barretto during the launch party of the brand new Penshoppe App to share some of their summer fashion tips and advice to stay ✨slay✨ despite the heat!

Don’t be afraid to change your style!
According to Cassy, she used to dislike wearing summer dresses but now she’s much open to changing up her style. “I really like summer dresses [now]. I’m not usually the girly type but now I think my style is changing,” she shared.
She also suggested going for more yellow clothes, which she believes is the color of summer. “I think the in thing now is the color butter yellow. I’m seeing it everywhere and I’m so happy because yellow is my favorite color! Sabi ko, ‘yes, it’s finally my time to shine!’ Nilabas ko na lahat ng yellow na gamit ko.”
Wear breathable clothes when layering
“If you’re the type who likes to layer, find something that’s breathable,” suggest Darren. “Penshoppe has a lot of breathable pieces tsaka linen. ‘Yung hindi dumidikit sa balat mo kahit pawis ka na. Tsaka madali siyang mag-dry up.”
He also tends to go for wearing shorts so that he’s much more comfortable amid the heat. “Ang init init sa Pilipinas so something that I’ve gotten used to is wearing shorts. It’s one of my must-haves for summer sa aking wardrobe.”
Incorporate hats into your outfit
For Darren, a hat is also a must-have summer accessory, offering both style and practicality.
“I always have to have a hat kasi it’s a way of protecting yourself from the heat,” he said.
Bring cooling sprays and cooling wipes wherever you go
Although not necessarily a styling tip, Darren recommends packing cooling sprays and cooling wipes in your everyday bag to keep you fresh amid the summer heat.
Go basic!
Julia loves her basics because of all the different outfits you can pull off just by mixing and matching them with other pieces. “I’m an outfit repeater. That’s why I love my basics because you can always style them in different ways. And never-ending ‘yung opportunities with the basics,” she said.
