We stayed at their 2-bedroom hillside seaview villa which had a beautiful view of the ocean right from our comfy beds. The bathroom was also very spacious, and the villas included complete amenities such as a fridge, hair dryer, electric kettle, and even cozy bean bags and seats on the balcony.
But just a heads up that most of their villas are on the hillside, so prepare for a lot of stairs—IMO, it’s part of the experience!
Delectable meals
You surely won’t go hungry with Casalay’s in-house restaurant which also offers a gorgeous view of the beach.
Their extensive menu includes savory appetizers, Pinoy comfort food, Western dishes, deliciously prepared seafood, and classic grilled dishes. Some of our favorite dishes include their mouthwatering sinigang, perfectly-cooked ribeye steak, and their lemon butter prawns.
We actually loved how extensive their food menu was, because there really is something for everyone and any kind of craving.
Exciting amenities
Casalay sits right in front of the beach, so you can enjoy swimming with the diverse marine life in Puerto Galera, or try their crystal stand-up paddleboards and clear kayaks. It’s perfect for experiencing oneness with nature and for taking the perfect IG photo!
If you’re not much of a saltwater swimmer, you can also enjoy a dip in their two pools. One of the pools can go as deep as 10 feet because that’s also where they do short training for SCUBA diving.
And if you’re in the resort for true relaxation, they also have a wellness spa that offers therapeutic massages either in your room or by the poolside!

If you’re just out on vacation in Puerto Galera and you want to try diving for the first time, Casalay also offers the Discover Scuba Diving experience which is perfect for first-timers.
As first-time divers, we were given a short training session as part of the Discover Scuba Diving experience. The first part included a video lecture and skills training in the pool.
Casalay’s diving instructors are part of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) so you can be sure that they’re well-experienced and fully qualified! They actually made us feel very safe to get into the water even without prior scuba diving experience.
After about an hour of training and lectures, we were ready to get into the ocean and see the beautiful underwater world.

It was such a surreal and thrilling experience for us to see loads of vibrant fish and marine animals. It was such an unforgettable moment for us to get up close and personal with the many sea creatures of Puerto Galera. We also loved how our diving instructors were guiding us every step of the way, making sure that we felt safe and that we were having fun.
