Carla Abellana became emotional as she bid farewell to her pet dog for 11 years named Patches. On Instagram, she penned a touching message for her beloved companion and shared photos of them together.
“Her purpose was to bring light and companionship into my life,” she wrote.
The actress and animal rights advocate recalled when her stepfather gave her Patches, “It was during a very dark period of my life when my Stepdad, Neri, surprised me with PATCHES. I came home from work late one evening to see her inside a small crate. Right there and then, i truly felt i was no longer going to be alone. I fell in love with Patchy Poo.” [sic].

“Fast forward to 11 years, God decided that she had already fulfilled her purpose here on earth. He suddenly needed her back. Though i wasn’t even given the chance to protest, i had to respect the Lord’s painful decision to take her away from me,” [sic] she added.

Carla mentioned that her dog’s death made her heart shatter again at the moment of her “healing.”
“You have my heart always and forever, Patchy Poo. Please say hi to the two Rockys, Sunny and Wing for me. I imagine you all running around the rainbow bridge together, and that gives me a tiny bit of comfort. I’m going to miss your big, bright, naughty smile, my Patchy. Abu,” she concluded.
In a separate Instagram post, the 37-year-old shared more photos of Patches.

This is not the first time Carla lost a pet. In 2020, she also mourned the death of her adopted dog, Wing.
