Cariza’s: What Cookie Monsters Crave For

Cariza’s: What Cookie Monsters Crave For

A song kept on repeating in my head when I received, photographed and wrote this product feature. Here it is: Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? Back to childhood days, I know. But I can’t help it. Why so? Let me tell you more about what might be stolen — lovely cookies from Cariza’s.

Upon arriving home, my brother told me that a package arrived for me. I knew something would be arriving, but I did not know what kind of stuff. So, with gladness, I opened the package and found two brown boxes beautifully tied up with a pink ribbon – perfectly perfect to be given as gift, I thought. Hello, Christmas gift idea!

Added to the thought of what’s inside is a cute little note handwritten in cursive from the owner, Ms. Hana Agbayani. From what she wrote, I learned that the business is home-based. And, beside the cookies, they also sell cupcakes and cakes, which they can deliver straight to your doorstep.

I proceeded opening the first box. In there, This is what i saw:

This is what Hana was describing in her little note: vegan cookies made from coconut oil, coco sugar, flour and dark chocolate chips. Nope. I’m not the health buff here dedicated to eating healthy, so I will leave you to decide if the cookies should be added to your non-cheat day diet.

As I was looking at the cookies, I couldn’t help but be happy to see that the cookies I drew as I child were translated into reality. The chocolate chips are humongous! I was happier to know that they were  made from dark chocolate (health buffs, pay attention!)! Oh, how I loved that!

Something surprised me more when I opened the second box. Those stuffed cookies that Hana mentioned in the note were inside. They came in eight flavors namely Chocnut, Nutella, White Chocolate, Kinder Bueno, Oreo, Hershey Morsel, Snickers, and Reese’s.

So I took the photos of the cookies and started munching on them. First: the vegan cookies! The cookies are soft, but not too chewy — taking a balanced spot between the two. The taste of coconut milk and coco sugar dissolved in the deliciousness of the treat. I wouldn’t know they were made from that if it wasn’t indicated.

As for the stuffed ones, I can say that there was satisfaction in every cookie. The flavours give hints of what is hidden at the center of the cookies. And I mean that. Literally! It was a pleasant surprise when I took the first bite. I was expecting little chunks of somethings (say, Snickers or Oreo or Chocnut). But, hello! There came a giant chunk of something on my first cookie, and then the second, up to the last! If this will not be labelled and just put in a cookie car, taking a bite will surprise the eater.

A little reminder, though. The stuffed cookies are not for the faint-hearted. If you plan on eating ten cookies, I would recommend the vegan ones instead. This is because one stuffed cookie is just enough to seal a meal.

If I had a cookie monster at home, he might be the answer to my song-question. Also, I will need to store the cookies in a vault just to make sure that the goodness will still be for me. Good news is: I am the cookie monster! Haha! So there’s no need for the vault and all. I was guilty of devouring all the good flavors of the  cookies from Cariza’s when I was at home, when I was travelling, when I was at work and whenever there was a chance to nibble the cookies.

Are you crazy for cookies yourself just as I am? You SHOULD not miss trying Carizas‘ cookies. 🙂
