Learn something new and get creative this weekend! Join CandyKnits Over Coffee: A Basic Knitting Workshop presented by Cordillera Coffee & Coffee AID (Assistance for Indigenous Development), in partnership with CandyKnits.

The workshop will be facilitated by Candy Reyes-Alipio, freelance production and costume designer, events stylist, entrepreneur, and crafter extraordinaire. She is also part of the Ricefield Collective, a social business that provides an alternate livelihood to the women of Uhaj, Ifugao and aims to keep the indigenous people in their native land. She has been instrumental in helping teach the community how to hand knit one-of-a-kind pieces that would cater to the export market.

Venue is Cordillera Coffee, a social enterprise that promotes single-origin, organically-grown, and fair trade coffee from the communities in the Cordillera region. Through Coffee AID, the cafe directly links up with the native farmers so that they go beyond being mere suppliers, but partners in the business.  Their advocacy is empowerment for indigenous coffee growers through fair trade, sustainable practices.  Learn more about their cause at fb.com/cordicoffeeforacause.

The cafe is located at G/F Llanar Bldg, Xavierville Ave, Loyola Heights, Quezon City, and a map is available at their page. Workshop fee is only PhP1500, which includes a basic knitting set, great coffee & yummy snacks.  Participants can register at bit.ly/candyknitsovercoffee
