In case you missed it, Charles Melton is now a male lead on the big screen! Starring as Daniel Bae in ‘A Sun is Also a Star’, he celebrated the premiere of the movie with his off-screen fellow-‘Riverdale’ girlfriend, Camila Mendes. And since she’s such a proud (and utterly sweet) girlfriend, she decided to congratulate him on Instagram with a touching ‘love letter’-ish message.
She starts off her message sharing a little bit about Charles’ journey into the project before sharing a little bit more about their personal relationship. “Before we started dating, he’d often get mad at me for trying to bring logic into love,” she says. “He taught me that love doesn’t have an explanation. It either exists or it doesn’t.” And then she proceeds to tell us why she fell in love with him in the first place. “It was his vulnerability not only as an actor, but also as a man, that taught me that valuable message – one that is so relevant to this film.”
