Cagayan de Oro City’s Primavera Residences:
Live Harmoniously with Nature in a Multi-awarded Eco-friendly Residence!
Nowadays, we are always confronted by natural and manmade hazards brought about by climate change, nature’s unpredictability and man’s seemingly never ending propensity to use and abuse nature’s bounty. Though we cannot control the forces of nature but we can definitely find a way to live with it and survive.
Albert Einstein once said, “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” I guess that’s just what the Founders of Italpinas Euroasian Design and Eco-Development Corporation (ITPI) did when they designed and constructed Primavera Residences, a two-tower mixed-use property that has gained local and international recognition for its environment-friendly features. ITPI believes in using nature as an inspiration to build sustainable and eco-friendly residential units that will contribute to the preservation of the environment while providing an affordable shelter for the middle market.
One of the important features of this eco-friendly property is its geo-cooling system where outdoor natural warm air passes through the external inlets of the building and rises through an indoor courtyard, leaving a natural breeze inside the building. This design was based on the scientific fact that hot air rises and cold air sinks.
The Apartments are likewise located in such a way that would allow cross ventilation among the units in order to reduce indoor heat. This would eventually decrease air conditioning consumption by 32%!
Another awesome feature of this building is its shadow-cooling system which provides a permanent sun-shading structure that minimizes direct solar exposure, leaving the Units cooler in the process.
Primavera Residences is also equipped with a photovoltaic system using solar panels installed at the rooftop. These solar panels produce renewable energy for the building’s common areas and provide additional protective layer from the direct heat of the sun.
ITPI has also considered natural calamities in the building’s design and location by choosing a flood-free site located in the uptown area and by ensuring that the structure is typhoon and earthquake-ready. The building is actually designed to endure strong winds and earthquakes because of its basic O-shape, the best shape that can withstand strong ground tremors.
