V’s beloved pet dog, Yeontan, has crossed the rainbow bridge.
The BTS member announced the heartbreaking news through Instagram on December 2. He began his post by checking in with ARMYs and sharing updates about his collaboration with Park Hyo Shin and his upcoming holiday song.
“Actually, the reason Iโm writing this post today is that recently, Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars. I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan,” he wrote on Instagram Stories, as translated by Soompi.
“I would be grateful if you could remember Yeontan and wish for his happiness even in the stars,” he added.
V also paid a heartfelt tribute to Yeontan, sharing cherished photos and clips of their time together.

ARMYs have been showing an outpouring of love and support for Yeontan. Many fondly referred to him as a “K-pup idol,” following his appearances in V’s solo album “Layover” and his “Slow Dancing” and “Love Me Again” performances on “M! Countdown” in 2023.
Yeontan, affectionately known as Tannie, was born in September 2017 and first introduced to ARMYs in December of the same year. V previously revealed that Yeontan underwent two surgeries due to heart-related issues.
Run free, Yeontan.
