Here’s something for you to collect: the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is going to release three limited edition commemorative coins to celebrate overseas foreign workers (OFWs), Apolinario Mabini, who is considered to be the “Brains of the Revolution” during the Philippine Revolution, and the Leyte Landing, a key moment for the country’s liberation during World War II.

The coins commemorating the hard work of OFWs and the Leyte Landing will be P5, while the coin celebrating Mabini’s 150th year will be P10.

The coins are similar to traditional P5 and P10 coins, but the commemorative coins feature intricate and sophisticated designs.

This is not the first time BSP released commemorative coins. In 2011, they released a series honoring the 150th year of Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, and in 2013, another series featuring the 150th year of Andres Bonifacio, the father of the Philippine revolution.

In January, BSP will also release P50 and P500 commemorative coins for Pope Francis’ visit to the country.
