Brightburn: What If Superman Didn’t Turn Out to be a Hero?

We all know the story of how Superman came to Earth, but in case your memory needs refreshing: a couple on a farm couldn’t conceive a child and then one day, as if fate had heard them, Kal-El’s spaceship came crashing down on their farm. They then adopted the baby as their own, naming him Clark Kent – soon to be Superman to the world.

That’s how ‘Brightburn’ starts. A couple on a farm couldn’t conceive a child and then one day, as if fate had heard them, a spaceship came crashing down on their farm. They then adopt the baby as their own, naming him Brandon… except he isn’t the superhero that we know Superman to be. Instead, he seems to be, well, something more sinister. Watch the trailer here:

While some people might think that the storyline was stolen from Superman, it looks fairly intriguing to a superhero fan like me. It’s as if you took Superman and put him in the world of Stephen King.
