In the Philippines, several groups of women (and even men!) are supporting the campaign to normalize breastfeeding. The main goal is to suppress negative response towards mothers who breastfeed their children anytime and anywhere, to step up, to be proud, and to be BRAVE.
MommiEvents Productions, a group of women who are advocates of normalizing breastfeeding, decided to come up with a unique and strong way of supporting the campaign. They started the series, “BRAVE: Breastfeeding Boudoir & Family Photo Session” which is now on its third run. The BRAVE photo shoot aims to encourage mothers to fight for their breastfeeding journey, to stand up for what they believe in, and to prove that society should not stop them from providing what is best for their children. It also empowers women to embrace themselves as they go through different changes in their body. Physical changes are inevitable but what they do for their families is what should be the standard of “beauty” for them.
All mothers are beautiful no matter the shape or size, and BRAVE helps reflect it all. Lastly, the people behind this project from MommiEvents Production, The Hollow Box’s owner, the Hair and Make-up artists, to the staffs are all empowered women who believe that more women should also be BRAVE.
Registration is ongoing now for the third run of the series, which will be held on March 24, 2018 (Saturday), at The Hollow Box Studio & Creative Space, 18 Maria Asuncion Spirig Street, BF Resort Village, Las Pinas.
