Popular tourist island destination, Boracay, was once again recognized by Conde Nast Traveler in its 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Other islands in the Philippines were also included in the list such as Cebu and Visayas islands, which came in second, and Palawan which came in fourth.

Penang in Malaysia came in third and Bali in Indonesia came in fifth.

“This itty-bitty island (just under four square miles) in the Western Philippines is as close to a tropical idyll as you’ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastlines and made-for-Instagram sunsets,” Conde Nast Traveler said.

“The aptly named White Beach is Boracay’s main draw, with powdery white sand and shallow azure water ideal for swimming and snorkeling.”

Boracay just reopened to visitors in October 2018 after a six-month rehabilitation. It was voted by readers of the Conde Nast Traveler as the best island in Asia. The magazine’s latest survey for its Readers’ Choice Awards featured a record 600,000 voters.

The travel magazine opted to name the best islands according to the region. It divided them into Asia, Australia, and the South Pacific, the Caribbean and the Atlantic, Europe, North America, Africa, and the Indian Ocean.
