Anton Diaz sharing tips on how to be a successful blogger

How to be a Successful Blogger:

I honestly learned so much from this whole day seminar that I donโ€™t even know where to begin! Iโ€™d love to share them all with you but then I donโ€™t think that would fit in a single postโ€ฆ so let me share a few tips from the back of my head!

First of all, Anton arranged all these in a very organized manner. Iโ€™ll just go ahead and share what struck me.

BUILD SUBSCRIBERS

Prior to the seminar, I NEGLECTED the subscriber tab on the side. I figured I had Twitter, and Facebook and so on that no one really cared to subscribe anyway. WRONG. As Anton Diaz said, we never know how long Facebook and Twitter will be around, but weโ€™re sure these people will always have their emails. Rely on those rather than on the social networking sites.

Say NO to LOUSY photos

Several newbie bloggers think that the photos arenโ€™t as important as content. Well, though that technically IS true, we have to remember that people on the internet are busy multitasking! We need something to capture their attention! Since the content is not immediately viewable, your title and photos are you only hope of grabbing peopleโ€™s attention.

DONโ€™T think of money ahead of content

Ok, so I know a lot of you (like myself), want to earn a living out of blogging and thereโ€™s really nothing wrong with that. However, if we let it get to our heads, our posts and articles will really turn out BAD that no one would want to read it anymore. Just write casually as if talking to a friend, somehow somewhere there ARE people who will enjoy your style of writing and they WILL subscribe to you. Eventually, the money WILL follow.

Keep your posts SHORT

Though we all want to tell our stories and share it to the world, we have to once again remember that people (especially those online) are very busy and they donโ€™t have much time to read. Our articles may be REALLY GOOD, but if theyโ€™re too long, people might not even get to reading it. Keep it straight to the point with 300 words or less!

Write TIMELESS/EVERGREEN posts rather than just focusing on current events

Though current events help increase traffic and rankings through SEOs, the hype also quickly dies out. What you want is to be able to share an article that people would like to share over and over again. These are the posts that will keep your site alive in the long run. So instead of writing about the event, write about the experience.

TOP 3 sites that can help your blog

Google Insights (helps you find what people are looking for)

Google Analytics (create an account if you donโ€™t have one yet)

and Tweet Deck (for twitter)

and lastly, have a goal or objective when blogging. It will not only give more essence to your blog but it will also keep YOUR passion alive.
