Bisquitilla: Creative Yet Classic Sweet Treats You’ll Love
There’s always something wonderfully made out of friendship. This is once again made true when a small group of friends from Ateneo de Manila University came up with the idea of putting up a business. Hence, Bisquitilla.
Bisquitilla offers a more creative, more innovative, but still classic alfajores or cookie sandwiches inspired by one of Baguio’s specialties. You might relate these alfajores to macarons but surprisingly, these cookie sandwiches have a unique, thick buttercream/ganache fillings, unlike most other macarons found today.
My personal favorite is the dulce de leche alfajor. I’m a big fan of anything with sea salt on it, and this one hit that sweet spot.
What I love about these alfajores from Bisquitilla is that its cookie excellently complements the sweetness of the filling, making this treat different from the rest.
A box of six (6) delightful alfajores costs 200 pesos, while a box of 12 totals 390 pesos. For those who just want to try one, a single alfajor costs 35 pesos. Reasonable price, satisfying treat; plus, you can customize your order by choosing what flavors to put in the box!
Flavors vary from Salted Hazelnut to Dulce de Leche to Rosemary Lemon to Red Velvet to Orange Chocolate to Peanut Butter.
This month, the people behind Bisquitilla are cooking up some Christmas-themed flavors for its customers. Think Peppermint Chocolate, White chocolate Gingerbread, and a special Twix-inspired chocolate. Something to really look forward to! Check out these order suggestions I got from their Facebook page:
You cannot go wrong with any of these sets!
These are perfect as gifts for your friends and family as your orders also come with a beautifully designed packaging. Catch them at the Noel Christmas Bazaar in Filinvest Tent, Alabang tomorrow, December 21 (Sunday)!
