The Belo Medical Group, led by Dr. Vicki Belo, announced that it is donating all of its remaining stocks of personal protective equipment (PPE) to “various hospitals and health centers in need,” and that it will continue donating its upcoming shipments.

In a statement on Facebook, the group said, “The Belo Medical Group is one with the Philippine Government in combating COVID-19. We recognize that this crisis is unlike any other we have faced as a nation before, and that now more than ever, it is imperative that we join hands as Filipinos, forget about personal economic gains, and support our government and our people in this fight.”

It added, “As a response to our President’s call, we are donating all our remaining stocks of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) in our clinics to various hospitals and health centers in need—and will continue to donate what is needed as our remaining shipments arrive.

The group also mentioned its guidelines for its employees. This includes the extension of full-pay, full-benefits for all employees despite the work suspension and the early release of their 13th month pay. Should the work suspension last beyond the month of May, a modified “no work, with pay” scheme will be implemented to help employees.

The statement ended with the Belo Medical Group urging other beauty and wellness centers to do the same. It said, “donate their stocks to hospitals and health centers and support their employees by maintaining their salaries and benefits in spite of the work suspension. We need to stand together against a common adversary at this time.”
