In a statement sent to The Korea Herald, Belift Lab announced that Heeseung will not return to the group.
“Heeseung will not be returning to Enhypen,” the agency told The Korea Herald. “He has a clear artistic direction he wants to pursue, and we decided to respect that.”
This confirmation comes after large-scale protests and campaigns mobilized by fans, urging the agency to reconsider its decision and allow ENHYPEN’s former main vocalist to pursue his solo career while remaining a member of the group.
On March 10, fans were shocked when Belift Lab announced that the 24-year-old K-pop idol had exited the group.
“Our company has been contemplating and discussing the direction ENHYPEN should pursue moving forward and the next goals to achieve. We held in-depth conversations about each member’s vision for the future and the team’s direction, and in that process, we confirmed the clear musical aspirations that Heeseung is pursuing, leading us to decide to respect them,” the statement read.
“As a result, Heeseung will be leaving the ENHYPEN team, and ENHYPEN will continue its activities as a 6-member group starting from official schedules going forward,” it explained, adding that Heeseung will release a new album as a soloist.
Following his departure from the group, ENHYPEN has been proceeding with six members: Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki.
