The Business Economics Association (BEA) along with the UA&P School of Economics held their online event, the Business Economics Forum (BEF) 2021: Widening Horizons Towards Development last Saturday, May 8, 2021.
The talks and discussions served as an inspiration to over 100 delegates via Zoom and Facebook Live – giving them insights on the importance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the recovery of our economy. One of the speakers, Mr. Bam Aquino, challenged the youth to support the SMEs on the pivot to digital transformation: “A lot of young people who are more adept and knowledgeable about this can support our countrymen who don’t have the same capacity to go digital. This is one of those times where being young is a definite advantage… It’s easier for us to do this and migrate digitally, and a lot of people, companies, SMEs, will have a difficult time and will be left behind.”
The event wouldn’t be a success without the valuable time and effort of the speakers in sharing their expertise about the prevailing issues faced by MSMEs amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
